What are the manufacturing processes of titanium alloy screws?
Material selection: Choosing the appropriate titanium alloy material is crucial to ensuring product quality. Commonly used titanium alloys include pure titanium, titanium aluminum alloys, and titanium palladium alloys, etc. The specific selection should be based on the product's application and performance requirements.
Production process:
Chain-making and heat treatment: The production of titanium alloy screws generally involves raw material selection, chain-making, heat treatment, surface treatment, and other processes. Heat treatment includes solution treatment and aging treatment. Through these steps, the mechanical properties and microstructure of titanium screws can be improved, enhancing their strength and hardness.
Surface treatment: Surface treatment can increase the corrosion resistance and decorative properties of the product. Common surface treatment methods include anodizing and chemical passivation.
Detailed process steps
Sintering and casting: Three vacuum self-consuming arc furnaces are used for self-consuming melting.
Shearing and forging: Shearing and forging are carried out at a heating temperature ranging from 1080°C to 1180°C.
Reversal stretching and forging: Three stretching and three pulling processes are carried out, with different temperatures for each stretching, resulting in a bar.
Bar rolling: The bar is heated to 950°C and rolled to the required size.
Cold or hot extrusion forming: Formed through cold extrusion or hot extrusion processes, suitable for screws of different specifications.
Precision processing: Through boring, shaping, polishing, and grinding processes, the aim of refinement, precision, and smoothness is achieved.

Special application
Aerospace: In the aerospace field, titanium bolts made of TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) and TA15 (Ti-6.5Al-1Mo) materials are widely used, featuring high strength and light weight.
Lightweight modification of bicycles: Using materials such as TC4, TA2, and TB3, through cold heading and surface treatment processes, extreme lightness and high corrosion resistance can be achieved.
These are the main manufacturing processes of titanium alloy screws and their applications in different fields.
